Spaced practice and self-testing are among the best-supported study techniques in learning research; rereading and highlighting are among the least.

Focus, Reading and Writing Practice

For a work session, start the Pomodoro Timer, use the Countdown Timer or Stopwatch for timed practice, keep notes in the Online Notepad, and mask background noise with the White Noise Generator. The Freewriting Tool helps with starting a draft: write for a set time or word count, with an optional no-backspace mode. To check yourself, the Reading Speed Test, Typing Speed Test and Speed Reading Trainer measure words per minute — and the trainer asks what you remembered, because speed without comprehension is not a skill. Listening and speaking: the Text to Speech Reader reads a draft aloud, Speech to Text dictates one, and the Online Teleprompter scrolls a script for a talk.

Where Your Data Lives

The planners, timers and notepad run in your browser. Tools that remember your work — the notepad, class schedule, habit tracker, Eisenhower matrix and Feynman template — save it in your browser's local storage on that device, not in an account, so it will not follow you to another computer and is lost if you clear site data. Download or print anything you need to keep.

Text to Speech uses your browser's built-in voices. Speech to Text uses your browser's speech recognition, and the audio does leave your device: Chrome sends it to Google, Edge to Microsoft, and Safari may send it to Apple. For notes and essays, the guides on taking research notes and organizing research go further.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is a Pomodoro?
The classic Pomodoro is 25 minutes of focused work followed by a 5-minute break, with a longer break of 15–30 minutes after four rounds. The Pomodoro Timer defaults to 25, 5 and 15 minutes, and you can set any lengths that suit you.
How far apart should spaced repetition reviews be?
A common starting schedule is 1, 3, 7, 14 and 30 days after first learning the material, stretching the gap each time you remember it. The Spaced Repetition Scheduler uses those intervals by default, accepts your own, and fits reviews before your exam date.
How do I make a study schedule for exams?
List each exam's date, rate how hard each subject is for you, and decide how many hours a day you can study. The Study Schedule Generator spreads the hours across the days, weighting harder subjects and adding review sessions before each exam.
What is the Eisenhower matrix?
A four-box grid that sorts tasks by urgency and importance: urgent and important tasks you do first, important but not urgent ones you schedule, urgent but unimportant ones you delegate if you can, and the rest you drop. Students use it to stop deadlines crowding out the long-term work that matters. The Eisenhower Matrix lets you drag tasks between boxes.
What is the SQ3R method?
SQ3R is a reading routine: Survey the chapter's headings, turn them into Questions, Read to answer each one, Recite the answers from memory, then Review. It works best on textbook chapters, and the SQ3R Reading Worksheet prints two pages with your chapter headings already written in.
Can I export flashcards to Anki?
Yes. The Flashcard Maker exports your term–definition pairs in a format Anki can import, and also prints them as duplex-aligned cards with cut lines.
