- What does the bibliography verifier check?
- It checks APA reference-list formatting, duplicate and ordering issues, author–date citations missing from the reference list, uncited references, identifier resolution, and strong title or year conflicts with retrieved metadata.
- Is a resolved identifier proof that a citation is correct?
- No. Resolution only means the identifier returned metadata and no strong title or year conflict was detected. It does not prove that the source supports your claim, that it has not been corrected or retracted, or that every style detail is correct.
- Is my manuscript uploaded?
- No. Word and text documents are read in your browser. Only extracted DOI, PMID, ISBN, or arXiv identifiers are sent for metadata lookup; manuscript prose is not sent.
- Why was a reference not checked?
- The metadata pass needs a DOI, PMID, ISBN, or arXiv identifier. References without one still receive local formatting and manuscript cross-checks, but the tool does not guess whether an unidentifiable source exists.
