- How do I make a word search puzzle?
- Enter 3 to 20 words (letters only, up to 15 characters each), pick a grid size from 10x10 to 20x20, choose which directions words may run, and click Generate. The words are hidden in the grid and the empty squares are filled with random letters.
- What directions can words be hidden in?
- Horizontal, vertical, and diagonal — each can be toggled on or off. Enabling "allow reversed" also hides words backwards in the enabled directions, which makes the puzzle noticeably harder.
- How do I see the answer key?
- Toggle "Show answer key" and every hidden word is highlighted in the grid. Toggle it off before printing to hand out a clean puzzle, or leave it on to print the solution.
- Why did some of my words not fit?
- The generator tries hundreds of random positions per word, letting words cross where letters match. On a small grid with many long words, a word can still fail to fit — the tool lists any that didn't so you can pick a larger grid, enable more directions, or click Regenerate for a new layout.
- Can I print the word search?
- Yes. Click Print and only the puzzle grid and word list are printed — the controls and page chrome are hidden automatically. Everything runs in your browser for free.
