- How does the every-Nth-word mode work?
- Paste your passage and pick N between 5 and 12. The generator blanks every Nth eligible word, automatically skipping short words under 4 letters and capitalized words that look like proper nouns, so names and small function words stay in place.
- Can I choose exactly which words to blank?
- Yes. Switch to the "blank these words" mode and enter a comma-separated list. Every whole-word occurrence of each listed word is replaced with a numbered blank — partial matches inside longer words are left alone.
- What is the word bank?
- The word bank is the list of removed words in shuffled order, so students can choose from it without the order giving answers away. You can hide it for a harder worksheet, and the answer key lists each blank's word in order for grading.
