- What do the 'keep first letter' options do?
- 'Keep first letter' locks the first letter in place and shuffles the rest — an easier puzzle. 'Keep first and last' locks both ends, which mimics the popular readability effect where jumbled middles remain readable and makes good warm-up puzzles.
- Can I make a worksheet with hidden answers?
- Yes. Answers are hidden by default, so you can copy just the scrambled words for a worksheet. Toggle 'Show answers' to reveal the original word next to each scramble for your answer key.
- Can I scramble a whole vocabulary list at once?
- Yes. Put one word per line and every line is scrambled in a single click — ideal for spelling practice, vocabulary games, and classroom word jumbles.
- Why does a short word sometimes look unscrambled?
- Words with one or two letters — or repeated letters like 'aa' — have no different arrangement, so the scramble can only match the original. For everything else the tool retries until the result differs.
