- How is exact age calculated?
- The calculator counts complete years from your birth date, then complete months, then the remaining days — borrowing from the previous month when needed, using the actual length of each month. This is the same way ages are computed on official forms.
- Can I calculate my age on a specific date?
- Yes. Use the optional "as of" date field to compute your age on any date — past or future. Leave it blank to use today.
- How are leap years handled?
- The calculation uses real calendar month lengths, including February 29 in leap years, so the years/months/days breakdown and the total-days count are both calendar-accurate.
- What if I was born on February 29?
- In non-leap years the calculator treats the anniversary as March 1 for the next-birthday countdown, which is the most common convention. Your exact age in years, months, and days is still computed from the real calendar.
- How is total days lived calculated?
- It is the number of calendar days between your birth date and the "as of" date, computed in UTC so time zones and daylight saving changes can't skew the count.
