Frequently Asked Questions
- How do I count the days between two dates?
- Choose the "Difference between two dates" mode, pick a start and end date, and the calculator shows the total days, the same span as weeks plus days and months plus days, and the number of business days.
- What counts as a business day?
- Monday through Friday. The business-day count skips Saturdays and Sundays but does not account for public holidays, which vary by country and institution.
- Is the end date included in the count?
- The total-days figure is the span between the two dates — Monday to Friday of the same week is 4 days. The business-day count works the same way: it counts each day after the start date up to and including the end date, skipping weekends.
- How does adding business days work?
- The calculator steps forward (or backward) one calendar day at a time and only counts weekdays. Adding 5 business days to a Friday lands on the Friday of the following week.
- Does the calculator handle time zones and daylight saving?
- Yes. All arithmetic is done on calendar dates in UTC, so daylight saving transitions and local time zones can't produce off-by-one-day errors.
