The first page of a paper, carrying the title, your name, and whatever institutional details your style requires.
APA 7 requires a separate title page for both student and professional papers, with the title, author, affiliation, course, instructor, and due date, all centred and double-spaced. Chicago and Turabian use one too.
MLA does not. It uses a four-line header block on the first page of the text — your name, instructor, course, date — followed by the centred title. Adding a separate title page to an MLA paper is a common and avoidable error.
