- How does the upside down text generator work?
- Each character is swapped for a Unicode lookalike that resembles its 180-degree rotation — a becomes ɐ, e becomes ǝ, ? becomes ¿ — and the whole string is reversed so it reads naturally when turned upside down.
- What does the mirror option do?
- By default the flipped text is also reversed, so it reads correctly if you physically rotate the screen 180 degrees. Ticking the mirror option keeps the original letter order instead, which makes the rotated text read backwards — a mirrored effect.
- Why do some characters not flip?
- There is no dedicated upside-down alphabet in Unicode — the effect borrows lookalike characters from other scripts, such as Latin, Greek, and IPA phonetic symbols. Characters with no convincing rotated lookalike are left unchanged.
- Where can I use upside down text?
- Anywhere plain text is accepted: social media bios and posts, Discord, chat messages, and usernames. Because it is plain Unicode, no special app or font is required.
