Shortened Notes

After the first full citation, use shortened footnotes:

1. Last, Short Title, page.

Key Formatting Rules

  • Use superscript numbers for footnote references in text
  • Bibliography entries use hanging indentation
  • "Ibid." may be used for consecutive citations of the same source
  • Titles: books and journals italicized, articles and chapters in quotes
  • Use access dates for online sources that may change
